Proclamation
National Waste Reduction Week in Canada
October 18 – 24, 2021

WHEREAS           as a Municipality, we are committed to conserving resources, protecting the environment and educating the community; and

WHEREAS           the generation of solid waste and the needless waste of water and energy resources are   recognized as global environmental problems; and

WHERE AS          Municipal governments have an important role to play in promoting waste reduction, reuse, recycle as global environmental problems; and

WHERE AS          communities, businesses and organizations across Canada have committed to working together to raise awareness of these issues during Waste Reduction Week in Canada.

NOW                   I, Mayor Doug Lawrance, of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout, do hereby proclaim

THEREFORE        October 18 – 24, 2021 as “National Waste Reduction Week in Canada” in the Municipality of Sioux Lookout.
